Hi! Welcome to The Harlequin.
We’re a real ale pub situated in Sheffield. Our house beers are brewed by local brewery The Brew Company, and we have a constantly changing range of guest beers. With 14 hand pulled beers from craft breweries across the country, there’s always plenty to choose from!
We’re open from 12.00pm daily. (Please note: we will be closing at 7pm on Sunday 26th February for a (very belated) staff Christmas party. We will re-open at 12.00pm on Monday 27th February as usual. We may have slightly sore heads.)
Food is served:
12.00-2.00; and 6.00-9.00 Monday-Friday
12.00-6.00 Saturday
On Sundays we serve home made Roasts between 12.30-3.00 with a selection of meats and a vegetarian option always available.
Come and say hello! You can find us at:

Dear Harlequin,
Might it be possible to arrange for your hot buffet service to be available to accommodate about 12 rather tall (6 foot plus) and hungry basketball players this Saturday (22nd May) evening at about 6.30pm?
We are staying in the Holiday Inn near Sheffield’s old Victoria Railway station, and would like to find a Good Beer Guide pub
in the area that could cater for us.
Your kind consideration and advice would be greatly appreciated!
Kindest regards,
John Coleman
Hi John
I can’t see why not! Do you want to drop me an e-mail to harlequinpub[@]gmail.com (or phone 0114 275 8195) letting me know what your preference for food choices would be?
thanks, Liz
Hi Harlequin,
We are hoping to come down next Sunday the 30th May to sample your Sunday roasts.
One of us doesn’t drink at all and doesn’t like any food that includes alcohol. I believe you do beer batter yorkshire puddings would it be a problem for her to order the meal with normal yorkshire puddings? And also does the meat choice change weekly?
Thank you
Hi Sarah – no problem, if you let me know if you’re definitely coming down I’ll make a batch of normal puddings as well. We generally do pork and beef each week – if it’s any different next week, I’ll let you know. Thanks, Liz
do you do 18th birthday partys?
hi – no, sorry, we don’t do 18th birthday parties.
Hi
I’m trying to arrange a 40th birthday party for 50 to 60 people on 10th December. Would you be able to accomodate this and would the charges be? Would we need to provide our own music, I don’t think food is required.
Many thanks
Jo
Hi Joanne – thanks for the message. We don’t actually hire out the function room without a minimum £100 spend on a buffet (our cold buffet is £5 a head). There is a live band on in the pub that night, but if you did decide to use the function room there is a cd player, or you’d be welcome to arrange for a dj.
hope that helps.
Hi Harlequin,
I am a student at Sheffield Hallam University studying Film and Media Production in my second year. Myself and a friend would like to ask you whether it would be appropriate to shoot a short film in your pub.
We came by last week to look around, and we think your traditional pub is perfect for what we need. We would only use a small corner and a wall and two extra actors, preferably early upon opening, so it would not be busy.
We are hopefully looking to do this later this week, if that is possible? Friday morning would be the best.
I can email you the script if you are interested.
Kindest Regards,
Lewis.
Hi Lewis
Thanks for your comment regarding filming at The Harlequin. In principle I’d have no problems with you doing this – could you just e-mail me a few extra details about how long your filming would take, whether you’d be bringing anything else with you, what sort of subject matter your film is about? e-mail to: harlequinpub[at]gmail.com
Friday morning would be fine – we open to the public at 11.30, though if you wanted to come in a bit earlier to start/set up, we could let you in from 11.00ish (we’ll still be cleaning/setting up at this time, but should be able to leave you in peace!)? Also, please note that Friday dinnertimes can get quite busy from 12.00 so ideally we’d need you to be finished by then.
Hope that sounds ok, if you need any further information please let me know.
Best wishes, Liz
Hi Liz,
There may be a problem regarding actor availability on the Friday morning. Which other days would be okay to come in and film, either Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings?
If there is a problem, not to worry.
Thanks alot,
Lewis.

Hi Liz,
Actors are available this week, is Friday (4th Nov) okay? As early as possible?
Thankyou again,
Lewis.
